WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury takes on former UFC champ Francis Ngannou in a night of big-name crossover boxing. Here's everything you need to know.

The latest episode in the crossover boxing boom is set to go down. A pair of heavyweight champions will clash inside the boxing ring at Boulevard Hall in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on Saturday night when WBC and lineal heavyweight king Tyson Fury meets former UFC heavyweight titleholder Francis Ngannou.

Fury, one of the most decorated champions in the heavyweight division, has contemplated retirement on and off for the last few years as talks of making a unification bout with Anthony Joshua and then Oleksandr Usyk seemed to stall out. His last two ventures to the ring were not of championship caliber in many eyes as he stopped both Dillian Whyte and Derek Chisora in 2022. Now, if successful on Saturday, he and Usyk have signed contracts for a meeting in December to finally crown a four-belt undisputed champion.

Ngannou, meanwhile, has his own unique story to reach this point. Ngannou fought out of his contract with UFC after successfully defending the heavyweight crown against Ciryl Gane in January 2022. An advocate for fighters' rights and pay, he constantly clashed with Dana White in trying to make things better for others. Upon leaving the organization, Ngannou set out on his own to get a better deal and the hopes of securing a dream boxing match.

The action gets underway at 1 p.m. ET on ESPN+ pay-per-view. The full fight card with odds and complete viewing information is listed below.

The 37-year-old will be considered a massive underdog against the undefeated Fury, but with interest in the contest huge he will be looking to spring a surprise and he can count on the support of all-time boxing legend Mike Tyson, who has been helping to train Ngannou in the build-up to the big fight.

Although Fury is clearly light years ahead of his opponent in terms of boxing experience Ngannou, who is nicknamed 'The Predator' holds the record for the world's hardest punch, something Fury will surely be wary of.

Mike Tyson has had the chance to see the power of Ngannou's fists up close in training sessions and has sent out a warning. Iron Mike said: "He has what it takes to knock out anything and anybody. Having that punch is pretty interesting but it doesn’t have any value if it doesn’t land on the target.

Wow. What a weekend to be a sports fan. The NBA has finally returned, Game 2 of the 2023 World Series airs tonight at 8:03 p.m. ET on FOX, and we have a full slate of college football and NFL action. Are we forgetting anything? Oh, right! A must-see PPV boxing event headlined by Fury vs. Ngannou!

The ten-round non-title bout will be Fury’s (33-0-1) first fight since he defeated Derek Chisora in December 2022. The clash will be Ngannou’s first professional boxing bout, although the fighter owns a 17-3 mixed martial arts record. Taking on the champ in your first boxing match is an intimidating venture to say the least, but Ngannou’s mentor Mike Tyson joined his team in late July to help oversee his training.

Clear your diaries for later on boxing lovers as fight night is finally here! And SunSport will be all over it from the opening contest on the undercard, to the celebrations at the end of the main event.

A shock showdown between the pair was mooted after Ngannou entered the ring and faced off with Fury following the Gypsy King's knockout win against Dillian Whyte at Wembley back over a year ago.

For those who want to watch the whole show, the only way to watch is through TNT Sports Box Office, meaning fans have to splash out. But if you are only looking for a slice of the action, tune in at 6pm to watch the opening blows.

There are plenty of intriguing fights on the undercard, none more so than the British heavyweight title fight between Fabio Wardley and David Adeleye. Former world champion Joseph Parker is also in action, as is Scottish heavyweight Martin Bakole.

Tyson Fury is set to take on UFC star Francis Ngannou in a mouth-watering and bizarre boxing bout this weekend. The Gypsy King Tyson will take on the MMA fighter and is the heavy favourite with odds of 1/14, with Ngannou at 15/2 and a draw priced at 28/1 by bookmakers.

The fight is scheduled for 10 three-minute rounds with Fury's boxing record at 33-0-1 (the only draw and blemish coming versus Deontay Wilder) while Ngannou has a 0-0 record and is making his boxing debut. Following the bout, Fury will take on Oleksander Usyk in a bid to unify the heavyweight division on December 23.

Some fans claimed Francis Ngannou “fumbled the bag” when he left the UFC as heavyweight champion to pursue the spoils of boxing.

But on Saturday in Saudi Arabia, he has a chance to have the last laugh, as the former MMA star and power puncher will take on the lineal heavyweight champion of the world Tyson Fury in a 10-round crossover boxing match.

Ngannou left the UFC in January of 2023, after determining that he wouldn’t receive his market value at the promotion. He signed with the Professional Fighters League later in the year, who permitted him to seek this opportunity, which is a massive payday for the man who holds a 17-3 record in MMA and a world-record of power-punching.

But not many expect him to have much of a chance against Fury. The Gypsy King is unbeaten at 33-0-1, and is considered one of the most skilled technical heavyweights of all-time, already surviving many more seasoned power-punching boxers, winning two of three fights with Deontay Wilder.
